Security vendor looks to strengthen its market focus, and build relationships with new strategic partners to drive further momentum in World’s second-largest cybersecurity market

Clavister (Nasdaq: Clav), a leader in high performance network security, plans to further develop its presence in Japan by strengthening its existing distribution partnership, and working with new strategic solution providers to extend the market reach for its innovative security solutions.

Japan’s cyber security market is expected to grow to over $10 billion by 2020, from around $5 billion in 2014, and is the world’s largest IT security market outside of the US.  The Japanese Government has announced significant investment in cybersecurity in the run-up to the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

Cybersecurity investment plans have been stimulated further by the massive breach of personal data from Japan’s pension service in June 2015, and by the country’s plans to introduce a national identification number system in 2016 that will create more online access and links to personal data.

Jim Carlsson, CEO of Clavister said:  “Developing our partner base is critical to establishing Clavister as a leading provider of security solutions in Japan, the world’s second-largest cybersecurity market, and the third-largest IT market.  We have already made excellent relationships and strong progress over the past 12 months with the help of our partners’ in-depth sector experience, and we look forward to growing our business further as we help to develop solutions to the security challenges in the country’s private and public sectors.  There are strong synergies between the Swedish and Japanese engineering cultures, and we believe that Clavister's technology offers a standard of quality and functionality that is well aligned to the rigorous demands of the Japanese market.”

Clavister’s solution range covers the Virtual Security Gateway Series that give complete freedom in securing virtualized and cloud computing environments.  The Clavister Virtual Series integrates into the virtual environment and secures key aspects of virtualization.  The range also features security appliances, next-generation firewalls (NGFW) in a desktop-sized package which deliver enterprise security for small companies, to purpose-built hardware appliances targeting mid-sized companies, to high-end ATCA-based appliances offering carrier-grade security in the most demanding data center and cloud environments;  in addition it offers specific security solutions for mobile networks enabling operators to secure 4G and LTE networks against cyberattacks and data interception.
