Cline Scientific: Scientific evidence supporting the patent application

Cline Scientific (Spotlight Stock Market: CLINE B) submits for publication scientific results from the work of developing stem cell therapy for cartilage damage.

The collaboration with a researcher at Sahlgrenska University Hospital and University of Gothenburg has resulted in data that forms the basis for the recently filed patent application aiming to protect a method of producing cartilage cells from stem cells using Cline's technology. Cline's R&D collaboration with the academy has so far resulted in two completed scientific studies as well as data included in the newly submitted patent application.

Organs and tissues such as cartilage and limbs are formed during embryo development by means of gradual changes in the amount of different growth factors. In this way, the cells are prompted by the specific biomolecules to develop into certain cell types. Cline utilizes this phenomenon by attaching these biomolecules to the gold nanoparticles on the gradient surfaces, thereby creating an environment that mimics nature's own nursery. The gradients are thus used during differentiation of stem cells towards cartilage.
