Clinical Laserthermia Systems AB (publ) and the French company Image Guided Therapy SA (IGT) have in recent days signed a term sheet, stating the main conditions of the cooperative agreement, that the parties are aiming to sign. The purpose of the collaboration is to jointly develop and commercialise a software product, offering doctors MR-supported, optimal conditions for measuring and controlling the temperatures during treatment with focal laser ablation or CLS’ imILT procedure.

IGT is a French medtech company that, utilising research work from the university in Bordeaux, has developed products in the field of MR guided, minimally invasive cancer treatments. IGT has been involved with two main developments: MR guidance for RF ablation procedures and MR guided focused ultrasound ablation devices (MRgFUS).

-  IGT has extensive knowledge in software development for medtech products and we plan for a development project in close collaboration, where both companies contribute with their respective expertise in creation of this new product. As previously stated our goal is to offer doctors, when choosing the TRANBERG®-system, an improved workflow where they, in the best way possible, can monitor the treatment procedure. I am very pleased with the term sheet which now is in place, with the objective to have a finalized agreement during the third quarter this year, said Lars-Erik Eriksson, CEO at CLS.

CLS markets and sells TRANBERG® | Thermal Therapy Systemfor image guided FLA on the US and European markets and for imILT treatment in Europe. Image guided means that the physician uses magnetic resonance images (MRI) or ultrasound images, for example, to identify targets, guide placement of instruments and for monitoring of the FLA treatment.
