Coeli Asset Management launches systematic global macro strategy that uses new technology
With the launch of Coeli’s new fund Prognosis Machines the company strengthens its product offering. Prognosis Machines is using Machine Learning to detect what themes investors favor as market conditions change.
Coeli Asset Management is now offering a systematic global macro fund, the Prognosis Machines. The fund has a unique strategy that uses proven financial models together with artificial intelligence to discover what themes investors favor as market conditions change. Prognosis Machines is managed by Alex Gioulekas, who recently joined Coeli Asset Management.
“We are very proud to bring this new technology to the market” says Lukas Lindkvist, CEO at Coeli Asset Management. “The Prognosis Machines had a strong start in these testing times. We expect it to continue yielding competitive and uncorrelated return as well as to improve Coeli’s overall offering”.
The strategy’s manager, Alex Gioulekas (PhD MIT ’92) was part of the founding team of IPM, a multibillion Swedish hedge fund. Alex was the company’s first CIO and built the investment process from scratch. After selling his stake in IPM, he has spent the past two years building the Prognosis Machines.
“Investors need a new strategy that can cope with the frequent risk-on/risk-off episodes. Fundamental models do not work during risk-off and behavioral models get whipsawed when the market changes direction frequently”, says Alex Gioulekas. ”The Prognosis Machines solution is to use Machine Learning to discover what themes or assets investors favor as unknowable events, such as policy errors, crises, and disasters, that shake the markets and to build the portfolio accordingly”, he continues.
The fund is incorporated in Luxembourg as a sub fund of Coeli SICAV II and has daily liquidity.
