Concentric: Break through order for new variable oil flow pump

Report this content

Concentric AB has received its first order for its new premium variable oil flow pump from a global truck manufacturer

The variable oil flow pump is an enabling technology driven by tougher emission legislation within the EU from 2013 and will be followed by the same stringent demands in the US in 2016. The variable oil flow pump provides both engine and truck manufacturers as well as end users with a compelling value proposition as it reduces fuel consumption by between 0.5-2.0 percent.

“We expect a very good market potential for this new product. By 2014 some 650,000 engines will have to comply with the tougher emissions legislation in Europe according to Power Systems Research data. Fuel cost is the single largest component representing about 30 percent of total operating cost for transport companies. However large the engine, wherever it is made and wherever it is used, there will be tougher emissions standards and increased focus on reducing fuel consumption. Our new product therefore offers a great value proposition", says David Woolley CEO of Concentric AB.

This new order will start being delivered during Q4 2012 with a ramp-up during 2013 and full volume 2014. It is expected to have a positive impact on EBIT from 2013.
