During Earth Hour, lights will be turned off around the world to promote awareness of climate change—beginning in Australia.

Melbourne, Australia March 29, 2012 –Concept Amenities, a global leader in the supply of environmentally responsible guest bath amenities and a dedicated steward of planet sustainability, will again participate in the worldwide Earth Hour movement planned for Saturday, March 31 from 8:30 pm to 9:30 pm.

During Earth Hour, lights will be turned off around the world to promote awareness of climate change. All Concept Amenities corporate facilities – including headquarters in Braeside, Victoria, Australia and operations in North America, Europe, and Asia – will demonstrate their commitment to the Earth Hour movement by dimming or turning off non-essential interior lighting, external lighting, and switching off appliances in unoccupied rooms.

For nearly 30 years, Concept Amenities has been an innovator in providing the hospitality industry with the best of both worlds – environmentally responsible products and amenities that entice and delight hotel guests. But the company has also supported a multitude of international environmental initiatives.

“What sets Concept Amenities apart from other companies that just talk about their environmental philosophy is that we actually live and breathe it,” says CEO Michael Matulick. “We have Standard Operating Procedures for energy, water and waste management in place and a dedicated “Green Team” that continually reviews and improves our company’s carbon footprint. We also offer a complimentary Hotel Green Guide, with quick facts and tips, to our many hotel partners globally."

“As in years past, we’re proud to be a part of the Earth Hour movement,” adds Matulick, “and we encourage our many hotel partners around the world to join in this important effort to raise public awareness of climate change and the urgent need to initiate environmentally sound solutions."

An environmentally sensitive approach extends to every aspect of Concept Amenities’ comprehensive array of exclusive branded hotel guest toiletries and environmentally friendly accessories. Soaps are moisture rich and formulated from vegetable based ingredients. Liquids are blended from high quality biodegradable ingredients and enriched with natural and organic extracts.  Plastic packaging both biodegrades in landfill and is are recyclable to ensure it is as eco-responsible as possible.

“Whether its evocative new fragrances, sensual textures, exotic design or vibrant colors, we consider everything that can enhance our bath and body products to create unique and desirable experiences,” says Matulick. “
