ContextVision acquires the rights for a new technology
Stockholm, Sweden – February 19, 2014 – ContextVision, a leading provider of medical image enhancement software, has today signed an agreement with Vistinct AB, a company newly founded by a research team from the Visualization Centre at Linkoping University. The agreement grants ContextVision the exclusive rights for a new 3D rendering technology within the field of ultrasound medical imaging.
- “The Vistinct research team is excellent and we have already established a very fruitful collaboration,” says Anita Tollstadius, ContextVision CEO. “By acquiring the rights to this advanced technology we will strengthen our position in 3D ultrasound.”
Visualizing the unborn baby has become increasingly popular amongst parents to be, and there is an increasing interest for further applications such as visualization of the heart. As a first step, and in collaboration with Vistinct, ContextVision will develop a new ultrasound product that will help manufacturers deliver more realistic prenatal ultrasound images.
- “We believe that a product based on this rendering software will complement our 3D image enhancement portfolio in a very good way. We expect the first product to be commercially available already by the end of this year,” says Anita Tollstadius, CEO.
