ContextVision’s GOPView XR2Plus Takes Aim at Subtle Pathologies
Revolutionary set of tunable soft tissue filters offers improved diagnostic value and increased throughput
BOSTON, Mass. and CHICAGO, Illinois and STOCKHOLM, Sweden – November 29, 2009 – At RSNA today, ContextVision, the software imaging partner for the most recognized medical imaging manufacturers worldwide, will introduce GOPView® XR2Plus, a new digital X-ray image enhancement product. Its robust automatic collimation detection minimizes tuning time, increases patient throughput, and reduces the cost of digital X-ray image acquisition and enhancement. The software includes a revolutionary set of tunable soft tissue noise filters, which offer improved visualization of subtle soft tissue details. This unprecedented image quality allows clinicians to minimize dose without sacrificing image quality or clinical benefit. Because the cumulative radiation from medical imaging tests may pose a cancer concern, both doctors and patients have begun to push for alternatives. The post-imaging enhancements possible with this new product serve to reduce both patient and clinical exposure. “The newest member of the GOPView family supports ContextVision’s commitment to bring to market the best images that today’s advanced technology can provide,” commented Don Barry, PhD, manager of ContextVision’s extensive X-ray product line. “GOPView XR2Plus will help our customers deliver cost savings, increased throughput, and clinical value to their customers. Its revolutionary filters eliminate artifacts in areas near metal implants, delivering greater diagnostic accuracy.” GOPView XR2Plus includes several features that reduce the clinician’s hands-on time. Its adaptive density tool helps present the images for immediate clinical viewing, and the automatic collimation detection feature frames the image to eliminate extraneous areas. Like all ContextVision products, GOPView XR2Plus relies on the proprietary algorithm, GOP®, which mimics the human eye’s method of finding information and analyzing structures. This enables the software to distinguish between true and false information (e.g. noise, artifacts) and accurately identify true structures. At RSNA, visit Hall B, Booth 7306 to see a demonstration of GOPView XR2Plus.
