PRESS INVITATION: High-level international delegation in Malmö to discuss future transport systems for European Ports

Report this content

In the trans-European Network for Transport, CMP has previously been designated as an EU Core Port. This makes CMP an important part of the EU's transport infrastructure and part of the transport corridor which links Scandinavia with the Mediterranean Sea, the so-called ScanMed corridor. The route passes through Finland, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Germany, Austria, Italy, and Malta.

Mr Pat Cox, the European coordinator for the ScanMed Core Network Corridor, has chosen to organize ScanMed's first Ideas Laboratory at CMP with representatives from the European Commission and CEOs from a vast majority of the 25 Core Maritime ports.

The aim of this Ideas Lab is to have an interactive exchange of good practices and to discuss development opportunities for Europe's transport network, and the ScanMed corridor in particular. The main themes of this event will be "Cooperate to be competitive" and "Modal shift and environmental issues".

The Swedish government will be represented by Mr Erik Bromander, State Secretary to the Minister of Infrastructure.

In view of this, the media is invited to a press conference as detailed below:
