Dorset Disability Cricket Club took to the pitch on Sunday the 24th of May, recording a win in their second fixture of the season, against Glamorgan’

Dorset won comfortably in the end by 92 runs; with CDD sponsored Captain Rob Franks contributing a quick fire 54 not out to his side’s 317 all out.

“The game went exactly how we wanted” said Franks, “we bowled incredibly well, fielded well and I’m happy with how the calls I made on the batting line-up held up.”

Franks supplied an economical 6 overs of medium pace bowling with one maiden, otherwise conceding 24 runs for 1 wicket.

“I felt I bowled a good line and they found it difficult to get me away, as I’m no longer an out and out fast bowler but much more accurate,” said Franks, “with my batting I felt incredibly comfortable. I didn’t have any balls that particularly worried me.”

“I love my SM kit, I’ve used many different ones before but I’ve never felt this secure. The Blaze T20 bat has enormous sweet spots and a huge middle – It’s enabling me to play the way I like to play, scoring quick runs.”

“I went out with the attitude of getting a quick 20 to 30 runs, but ended up with a 31-ball 54 not out, and in all honesty it felt like I could’ve batted all day!”

Dorset Disability’s first game this season was against the Isle of Wight cruelly beaten by 21 runs. Franks conceded 12 runs in his 6 overs and was caught going for his 50, whilst on 47.

Cricket Deal Direct Ltd was established in 2012 with the objective of sourcing quality hand-crafted cricket equipment direct from local Indian manufacturers and craftsmen. Our goal is very simple – “we want to change the game for buying cricket gear”.

By bringing new and exciting quality cricket brands to the market, we want to encourage cricket club and sporting associations to link with us and promote these thrilling new products together. Cricket Deal Direct will provide a transparent link and reward the organisation for any sales at discounted rates. We will also work together with clubs and associations to consider any joint opportunities that can benefit us both, either through sponsorship or other attractive reward schemes.

Quite simply, the company is based around the concept of “helping and supporting” cricket at all levels, including the promotion of Junior and Women’s cricket.

Cricket Deal Direct Ltd is the exclusive UK distributor of the SM cricket brand. SM is located in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, India and has a long and distinguished history. The original company was set up in Sialkot (now Pakistan) in 1925, by the Grandfather of today’s owners.

Cricket Deal Direct Ltd is proud to be associated with a company offering such a rich cricketing history and tradition. Today SM offers an exciting and vibrant range of quality cricket products at very affordable prices. Many International and local cricket players have endorsed the range, and it is our intention to promote and introduce the brand throughout the UK and “spread the word” amongst the cricketing community.
