Dabengwa new brand ambassador for SM and Cricket Deal Direct
Ferguslie CC all-rounder, Keith Mbusi Dabengwa is the latest cricketer to be sponsored by Cricket Deal Direct as well as becoming an ambassador for SM’s range of cricket equipment.
Zimbabwean-born Keith Dabengwa, 34, made his first class debut in Zimbabwe for Matebeland in 2000, taking 5 wickets for 76. In 2005 he scored 161 against Midlands Province, going on to represent Zimbabwe against New Zealand and India.
In 2007 he took his career best innings figures of 7 for 1, while playing in the Logan Cup, Zimbabwe. Dabengwa’s roots are as ‘bowler who could bat’; but in recent years he has found success as a versatile all-rounder – more recently cracking 158 against the Midwest Rhinos in 2010.
Joining Ferguslie CC in 2013, Dabengwa contributed to their winning the CricHQ40 cup, returning again in 2014. After achieving 700 league runs last season, including 184 vs Greenock, he will continue to play a role with Ferguslie CC as the resident professional this season.
