DIO planners win accolade for new Defence college

Town planners at the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) are celebrating after the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) commended their work on the new Defence Technical Training College at MOD Lyneham. The new College, which will bring together technical training across the Armed Forces on one site in Wiltshire, has been granted a commendation in the RTPI’s South West Awards for Planning Excellence, in the ‘Schemes on the Ground’ category. Sustainability is a key feature of both the plan for the 466 hectare site and the submission for the award. The site is a former RAF base
