‘Delamere Goats’ milk stops Camel from getting the Hump’ On Sunday 14th March, a male camel calf was born at the Oasis Camel Centre in Halesworth, Suffolk. Unfortunately the mother was not interested in the calf and he was getting weaker by the minute.. In fact the mother totally rejected the calf and was trying to bite and attack it. The staff had no other option but to take the calf away from the mother. Knowing that it is vital for the calf to receive the mothers’ first milk (colostrum) within the first few hours, the staff were forced to wrestle with the mother in order to milk her.
