Scottish seafood expert selected for HIE Entrepreneurship Development Programme

David Attwood, Production Director at Loch Fyne Oysters, has been selected for one of the six Highlands and Islands Enterprise sponsored places on the Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) in 2011. Run by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) Sloan School of Management, the course takes place on-site at MIT in Boston. David Attwood said: “I’m delighted to have been selected for a place on the MIT EDP. Loch Fyne Oysters is always looking for new ways to develop and grow its business and I am looking forward to exploring new ideas through the course.” David was selected as a successful candidate through the Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) competition to find ambitious entrepreneurs keen to take advantage of this unique opportunity to help their business reach its full potential and develop themselves as business leaders. Stephanie Anderson, Development Manager, HIE, said: “The EDP participants learn to hone their customer focus and entrepreneurial skills, and to create a more favourable climate for innovation and entrepreneurship in their organisations, which in turn will help develop the entrepreneurial ecosystem here in the Highlands & Islands. The course is aimed at the most ambitious global businesses with growth potential and aspirations.” Each year, HIE sponsors six Highlands and Islands businesses to take part on the programme.
