Star hairdressers digitizing their salons with the help of tech company
Award-winning salon Victor Noblesse, with roots dating back to 1959, is one of the salons that has been instrumental in shaping and developing the future hair salon platform. They are digitizing to avoid hassle and to provide better service to guests. They are also doing it to modernize for the hairdressers and to generate new revenues.
Most salons around the world have a reception or cash register where all customers queue up to pay and book their next visit. That's how it's been for decades.
"We are here to help hairdressers. We want to reduce their stress, administration, and hassle. That's why we started Digmi," says Tobias Lindberg, who founded the Swedish tech company.
Today, 150 salons in the Nordic region use Digmi. According to customer surveys, the large influx of customers is due to hairdressers wanting to provide a better experience for their clients, but they also want to streamline and modernize for their hairdressers while increasing revenue. All salons are also interested in cost savings.
New revenues and increased profitability
"By eliminating today's traditional reception desks, for example, salons can make room for a new chair that can be rented out or more products that can be sold," says the company's CEO, Joel Lagerkvist.
One of the salons that was early to see the benefits of digitization was Victor Noblesse in Gothenburg, with star hairdresser Dani Abunar at the helm, who together with his wife Marlene owns and operates the salon. Dani has many merits on his resume as a world, European, and Nordic champion in his profession. Together, Dani and Marlene have won awards such as Hairdresser of the Year twice.
"We chose Digmi because we wanted our hairdressers to be able to handle both booking and payment directly from the hairdressing chair. This frees up time in our reception and at the same time increases our rebooking frequency for our existing customers," Marlene explains. "At the same time, we offer the customer a more modern and comprehensive service," says Dani, concluding; "with Digmi, we avoid technical hassle as everything is controlled by them."
During Digmi's first year, 7,000 digital magazines were offered to hairdressers' customers. Now, Digmi 2.0 is being launched, which means that all hairdressers have everything they need on a digital platform.
"By using Digmi, all hairdressers can save money compared to what they pay today, while providing their customers with an even better experience," says Conny Mohlin, the company's technical manager.
