Accountancy profession gears up for biggest ever Accountex

Wednesday 11 May marks the return of Accountex to London ExCeL.  Thanks to its focus on new innovations and expert training opportunities, this popular two-day event has garnered a loyal (and ever-increasing) following among thousands of accountancy firms, finance directors, MDs, accounts managers, tax professionals, and sole practitioners looking to improve the way that they work and do business.

Representatives from KPMG, Grant Thornton, Saffery Champness, TaxAssist Accountants, Armstrong Watson, Old Mill, Barnes Roffe, SRLV, Transport for London, Ministry of Justice, HSBC, Citigroup, the NHS, BBC, Environment Agency, London School of Economics, and Volkswagen, are just some of big names that have already pre-registered to attend.  Over 5,000 visitors are expected.

“We are looking forward to attending Accountex again, and, like every other year, to walk away with yet more new and innovative ideas that will help our practice remain cutting edge,” says Liz Warner, director at UWM Accountants.

“My firm tries extremely hard to stay at the forefront of the profession whilst investing early in technologies, which we can utilise to ensure we are not only as efficient as possible but to give our staff a positive experience embracing new opportunities and initiatives.  Our staff team are our major asset and to help them feel fulfilled in their work is key to our strategy.  So, I’m keen to attend the show to help ensure the firm continues its positive development and growth,” says Andy Brookes, partner at Hazlewoods LLP, one of the first visitors to book their ticket for 2016.

“I am particularly excited about the technology aspects of the day.  I feel we will see more progress in the next five years than we have seen in the last 10 and we want to take advantage of all the great ideas at Accountex,” he says.

Nearly 200 industry leading exhibitors and an extensive free seminar and conference programme, with over 100 speakers hosting 150 separate CPD certified sessions in 13 dedicated show theatres, will be providing plenty of big ideas for 2016.

Accountex has grown rapidly since its launch, just five years ago, to become the must-attend event on the industry calendar; enjoying the support of the UK’s most important accountancy associations.

According to the new organisers, Diversified Communications UK, what makes the event so unique is that it offers free world class content in a sector, which is undergoing rapid change.  From the development of new technology solutions, including the industry moving towards more customer friendly cloud-based solutions, to changes in reporting requirements, auto enrolment, pensions, and tax – Accountex aims to provide a comprehensive, one-stop opportunity for time-pressed accountancy professionals to be brought up to speed with all the key developments and challenges affecting the industry.

To enable delegates to choose the most relevant sessions to attend, this year’s show will include separate streams indicating the appropriate seniority level for all of the sessions at the show.  The organisers are also working on other initiatives, which will be announced over the coming months.

“We are delighted with the way the show continues to grow in stature and importance at this crucial time for the accountancy profession.  Successful firms realise that they need to adapt in order to stay relevant and competitive, and Accountex aims to not just help to provide solutions and guidance but also to inspire accountants to look at their businesses in new ways,” comments Carsten Holm, managing director of Diversified UK.

Accountex returns to ExCeL London on 11-12 May 2016.  The event is open to all accountancy professionals and free tickets can be booked on the website at www.accountex.co.uk.
