Bus and coach industry gears up for Euro Bus Expo 2016
Europe’s biggest bus and coach event of the year opens at the NEC Birmingham on 1-3 November
The bus and coach industry will be out in force at the NEC Birmingham next week – checking out the next wave of vehicles, technology, equipment, accessories and services launching onto the European market at Euro Bus Expo 2016.
Millions of people across Europe rely on using buses and coaches every day. In the UK, for example, no other public transport comes close to matching the number of passenger journeys taken by bus and coach each year. Getting passengers where they want to go is just part of the journey. Operators that can be quick to adapt to their customers’ changing needs and expectations have much to gain. Innovative sourcing and keeping up-to-date with the latest product developments and insights is key, and, as the industry’s biggest showcase of the year, Euro Bus Expo is the “must attend” event to do just that.
Taking place at NEC Birmingham in the UK next week, on 1-3 November, the three day biennial event is expected to welcome over 9,500 key industry buyers and decision makers from across Europe.
Among them are representatives from all the UK and Ireland’s major bus and coach operators, including National Express, Stagecoach, First Bus, Arriva, The Go-Ahead Group, Metroline, Eurolines, Abellio, Transdev, RATP Group, The Wellglade Group, Translink, Bus Eireann, Lothian Buses, Oxford Bus Company, Shearings, Centrebus, Diamond Bus, National Holidays, Brighton & Hove Bus & Coach Co, Reading Buses and Tower Transit, plus hundreds of independents.
Local authorities – from Cornwall to the Scottish Borders, transport specifiers, partnership coordinators, stakeholders, and international buyers from over 50 countries are also planning to visit.
“Euro Bus Expo is a must attend event for those seeking solutions to today’s opportunities and challenges in the passenger transport industry,” says James Higlett, head of technical strategy and innovation at Arriva.
“Euro Bus Expo is a great place to keep you updated with the innovations in the industry. It’s great for networking with current and future suppliers and to introduce new members of our purchasing team to create long lasting relationships,” says Will Adshead-Grant, UK bus head of engineering procurement at FirstGroup.
“Euro Bus Expo is my one chance to see what the market has to offer all under one roof, and to see the latest technology advances in our industry,” says Philip Pannell, service delivery director at Yellow Buses RATP Group.
“Euro Bus Expo is the event we use to explore new sourcing opportunities, and to keep up to speed on new market entrants across a number of categories. It is always a worthwhile exercise,” says Chris Quinlan, procurement manager at Dublin Bus.
"Euro Bus Expo delivers a preview of what suppliers have to offer for the future. Being visionary in outlook, I am really looking forward to being pleasantly surprised," says Jane Cole, MD of Blackpool Transport.
“I have been visiting Euro Bus Expo (and Coach & Bus UK) since 1989, both as a visitor and exhibitor. It is, without doubt, the only place you can go to visit all of the suppliers you will ever need to, all under one roof,” says Andy Nixon, general manager at Clarkes of London Coaches.
“Having been in the bus industry for 40 years and attended many shows, I still get excited to see the latest innovations that are coming through, together with networking with like-minded people in the industry, exchanging thoughts and solutions. I look forward to visiting,” says Jon Batchelor, general manager at Abellio Surrey.
Euro Bus Expo will feature 291 exhibitors representing every link of the supply chain for coach, bus and minibus operation.
