Organic Theatre line-up confirmed

Of course, it’s not just the products that are set to pull in the crowds.  Keeping up-to-date with key industry trends and developments is integral to the running of any successful store or food outlet.  This year’s Organic Theatre line-up is designed to help attendees maximise their sales using the latest market data, insights and experience from high-profile brands and industry leaders.

This year’s free education programme now includes big names like Netto’s COO Thor Jørgensen, KRAV Sweden’s Johan Cejie, Organic Denmark’s international marketing director Helene Birk, Green & Black’s co-founder Craig Sams, Soil Association Certification’s trade relations manager Lee Holdstock, Oatly’s creative director John Schoolcraft, Ekoweb’s founder Cecilia Ryegård, and Mimi Eriksson Dekker and Eva Froman from EkoMatCentrum.

Matthias Lehner – PhD Lund University and member and former chairman of Ekolivs Co-operative in Malmö, Sweden – will also be adding speaker duties to his impressive resumé.  Using research that focuses on customer behaviour (nudging and collaborative consumption) as well as brand marketing, he’ll be discussing ways in which individual stores can connect to their customers and encourage them to engage in sustainable consumption strategies.

This year’s programme also includes two information-packed panel sessions focussing on the future of the organic sector; taking place on Monday 2 November from noon.

The first, hosted by IFOAM, will feature Per Kølster, chairman of Organic Denmark and deputy council member of IFOAM, examining how the Nordic organic sector can improve and expand organic by the year 2030.  Building on proposals launched as Vision 2030 at the 9th European Organic Congress this summer, the session offers a unique forum to discuss strategies and actions for the further development of the organic movement in Europe.

The second panel session of the day – The Future of Food: Tech or Natural? – features Edward Boëthius, a trend analyst at United Minds; Annika Lindecrantz, editor-in-chief of Livsmedel i focus; and Charlotte Bladh André, head of Organic Sweden.  Using insights drawn from the latest food and consumer trends, they’ll be sharing their thoughts on business opportunities and challenges for organic food business over the years to come.

Nordic Organic Food Fair (1-2 November, MalmöMässan, Sweden) is co-located with Natural Products Scandinavia.  Thanks to a 53% increase in exhibitors for 2015, the combined events will feature over 350 companies showcasing their latest natural and organic innovations to over 3,600 attendees.
