Nordic Organic Food Fair: Visitor registration opens for launch event
With visitor registration now open and its founding exhibitor list growing daily, event organiser Diversified Business Communications UK says it’s delighted with the industry-wide support its new trade event Nordic Organic Food Fair is receiving.
Taking place on 20-21 October at Malmö Mässan in Malmö, Sweden, the Nordic Organic Food Fair, which is co-located with Diversified UK’s award-winning Natural Products Scandinavia trade show, will offer a vibrant showcase of healthy, sustainable, organic delicacies and speciality ingredients from over 100 international organic food and drink suppliers.
Featuring dedicated pavilions from KRAV Sweden, the UK’s Soil Association and Demeter, confirmed exhibitors to date include Gastronomi Leverantoren AB; à la eco; Kiwa Sverige; Malmo Chokladfabrik; and Nathalies Direct Trade from Sweden. Whilst international companies keen to increase their brand presence in the Nordic market (imports account for around 50% of organic sales in Sweden alone) include Clearspring; DO-IT (Dutch Organic International Trade); Ogilvy’s Honey; Voelkel organic juices; IDOrganics; Horizon Natuurvoeding BV; Ocram; Spielberger GmbH; Frescolat SRL; Epikourous; Felix Himstedt; and Holle baby food GmbH to name just a few.
“In every respect the Nordic region is leading the world in its commitment to promoting the consumption of organic food, so it is really not surprising that the Nordic Organic Food Fair has had such strong interest from around the world already,” says event manager Zoe Jackson-Cooper. “With four months to go and new exhibitors committing to the show daily, this launch event will fill a significant gap – and an important need – for an international showcase that reflects all that is great about New Nordic cuisine.”
When it comes to buying organic, and understanding the importance of natural, sustainable lifestyles, Nordic consumers have been driving market growth for years. According to the FiBL’s European Market for Organic Food 2011, Denmark and Sweden are among the top six European countries with the highest per capita consumption (second and sixth respectively). The picture’s much the same in Norway, which recently topped the 2012 Legatum Institute’s (wealth and wellbeing) Index of the world's most prosperous nations for the fifth year running (followed by Denmark then Sweden), where a 9.5% increase in its organic market was recorded.
This market growth is far from a passing trend. As increasingly more Nordic consumers continue to choose organic over conventional foods, and cities across Scandinavia (like Copenhagen, for example) continue to put organic food at the top of their policy agendas (and on their public-sector kitchen menus), so those numbers will rise. Making Diversified’s new Nordic Organic Food Fair a perfectly timed event for visiting buyers from across the retail and foodservice spectrum looking to expand their organic food and beverage options to cater for their customers growing demand.
The Nordic Organic Food Fair will take place at Malmö Mässan in Malmö, Sweden, on 20-21 October 2013. In addition to a central exhibition, the event will feature a dedicated Keynote Theatre on the show floor, hosting sessions from leading industry experts on the latest organic food market trends and developments. The event is co-located with Natural Products Scandinavia, which was named Best International Launch at the UK’s annual Exhibition News Awards ceremony in April this year.
