Nordic Organic Food Fair 2015: Exhibitor show highlights

Nordic Organic Food Fair – the Nordic region’s only dedicated trade show for organic food and drink – has released its exhibitor show highlights for 2015.

The event, which is co-located with Natural Products Scandinavia, returns to Malmö, Sweden, on 1-2 November.  Thanks to a 53% increase in exhibitors for 2015, the combined events will feature over 350 companies – providing thousands of local and international buyers, retailers, and press representatives an unrivalled opportunity to meet organic product innovators and pioneers from around the world.

The following is a selection of certified organic food and drink products on show this year.

Smily Rainbow Organics (stand G20) is introducing Woodland Babies – a new luxury baby food range under the Woodland Wonders brand.  This exclusive range of baby cereals focuses on the finest wild harvest ingredients, with enhanced natural nutrition.  All products in the range contain no gluten, dairy, added sugar, soya or wheat (Denmark).

Gourmet Expressen is a new luxury brand from Dencon Foods A/S (stand G05), which includes organic Irish beef from free-range heifers, and Angus and Hereford steers.  Animal feed is organic, grass-based and vegetarian – and they graze in quiet surroundings so stress is decreased.  Beef cuts are presented in whole pieces and can be portioned to shops in culottes, striploins and entrecote brisket (new exhibitor, Denmark).

Is fra Skarø (stand G20) is promoting its organic ice-cream, made with pure raw ingredients, in the Organic Denmark Pavilion at the show.  Its range includes gourmet ice-cream, soft-ice, and specially designed ice-cream for the health sector.  Is fra Skarø differentiates itself from other ice-creams on the market by using birch juice and sugar kelp (new exhibitor, Denmark).

Raikastamo Oy (stand J01) is introducing its recently launched organic juice boxes, specially designed for children.  The three flavour combinations, apple-pear, orange-carrot and grape-cranberry – are packed in 200ml tetra paks, and made without any added sugar or additives (new exhibitor, Finland).

Importer of gourmet specialties from across the Mediterranean, C&E Gastro Import (stand G75) is launching its first biodynamic virgin extra olive oil (Demeter label); strengthening its commitment to elaborating extra virgin olive oils of the highest quality, and protecting the environment and olive groves (new exhibitor, Sweden).

Handmade in its small ice cream factory, Suominen´s Milk  Little Ice Cream Company (stand J22) is introducing its blueberry organic ice-cream to Nordic Organic Food Fair.  It’s made from organic milk and whole, fresh, wild blueberries (30%), which are harvested from the coniferous forests and taiga fells of Northern Finland (new exhibitor, Finland).

Biotropic GMBH (stand J58) is a producer, importer and distributor of certified organic fruits and vegetables. They specialise in tropical fruits, and are exhibiting products ranging from apples to zucchinis (new exhibitor, Sweden).

Les Jardins de Gaïa (stand F01) is launching a selection of seven blends of organic certified tea in high quality, screen painted metal tins.  Also new is Christmas Surprise – a green tea blend flavoured with exotic fruits, cocoa and sweet lime (France).

Käserebellen GmbH (stand H50) is introducing an organic pepper cheese in the Agrarmarkt Austria Pavilion at the show.  This semi-hard organic cheese speciality is refined with selected pepper varieties and green and red peppercorns, giving the cheese its spicy flavour.  The even distribution of the pepper in the cheese is also very attractive when sliced (new exhibitor, Austria).

Kärntnermilch (stand H50) is introducing its new Bio-Wiesenmilch range in the Agrarmarkt Austria Pavilion at the show.  New products include organic meadow milk, whipped cream, buttermilk, cheese specialities, and natural and fruit yoghurts (new exhibitor, Austria).

Ditra NV – Martera (stand J02) is promoting a new formula of its organic turmeric juice made from rhizomes, which is vegan, organic and gluten-free.   The product now has a higher essential oil content, which means the curcumin is faster and better absorbed.  Also showcasing: a range of organic superfoods and natural food supplements, including multivitamin Vibracell, Vibracell sport, organic Noni de Tahiti juice, organic Aloe ferox juice and gel, organic Goji juice and Graviola juice (Belgium).

Organo Botanica (stand H53) is showcasing its natural sun-dried products, grown in the pristine environment of the Himalayan mountain region.  The range include organic tree-ripened mulberries, cherries, apricots, peaches, apples, pears, persimmons and sea buckthorns.  These exotic fruits can be eaten as snacks or used as food ingredients (new exhibitor, Pakistan).

Natural Crunch (stand G65) is exhibiting its range of organic fruits (apple, mango, strawberry and banana) and vegetables (tomatoes, pepper, onion, pumpkin).  Its exclusive fast and soft drying process creates a natural crunchy texture (not fried or freeze dried, and with no additives).  The products retain their traditional flavours, and also preserve their antioxidant and vitamin content (new exhibitor, Spain).

Con.Bio. Srl (stand F54) is inviting visitors to sample its range at the show.  Its new organic and vegetable products include new vegetable mayonnaise and ready meals based on ravioli and whole wheat pasta, in organic and vegan variants (new exhibitor, Italy).

Bohlsener Mühle (stand J12) is introducing its new muesli biscuit ‘to go’ at this year’s show, which combines muesli and biscuit in one product. Made with grains from the company’s own mill, and combined with crunchy nuts and fruity sultanas, almonds, cashews and hazelnuts, it’s considered a healthy energy supplier for work, travel and fun.  Also showcasing: baked products, including biscuit crispbreads and crunchy cereals (Germany).

Blessings Group (stand J06) is promoting its Chinese herbal products, including Goji berries and Reishi (under the name Eternal Life).  Also showcasing: biochip loose tea from the ‘Sinesis’ plant.  All its Kraft paper packaging is eco-friendly and all products are certified by Ecocert (new exhibitor, Belgium).

Lye Cross Farm (stand J40F) is introducing its individually wrapped Organic Cheddar Snacks to the Nordic region, made using organic milk from its own, and other local, organic herds in Somerset, England.  Their cheddar cheese is produced by traditional handmade methods.  It is ideal for retailers and also available in bulk for foodservice (new exhibitors, UK).

DO-IT Dutch Organic International Trade (stand G40) is promoting its extensive range of food ingredients, including organic Freekeh and organic Teff, and La Bio Idea Tagliolini egg pasta, made traditionally for more than 100 years in Sicily.  New products from the Amaizin range include salsa dip, extra fibre tortilla wraps, curry pastes in four varieties (Tandoori, Tikka Masala, Thai Red and Thai Green), and three different soya bean noodles – gluten free, low in carbs and rich in fibre and protein (The Netherlands).

Pajottenlander  Freya (stand H61) is introducing its new range of Freya fruit and vegetable juices.  These natural juices come in a range of flavours, including apple, apple & blueberry, apple & raspberry, pomegranate, multi-fruits, and red beetroot, plus a mixed vegetable vitality juice.  All are fully organic, without additives, gmo-free, unsweetened, and not from concentrate (new exhibitor, Belgium).

Bio Planete (stand D60) is introducing its organic oil made from ripe oueslati olives, which are gathered by hand from the mountains of Tunisia. The olives are pressed with unprocessed Maltaise oranges, ensuring the olive oil exudes both the fragrance and flavour of fresh oranges (Germany).

Herbaria GmbH – münchmedia ab (stand J05) is introducing the exclusive Organic Gourmet Basics range of individual spices from selected regions, including Caraway Seeds, Cinnamon Sticks, Coriander Seeds, Cumin, Lavender Blossom, Marjoram, Mild Curry, Oregano, Sweet Fennel Seeds, Sweet Paprika Rosemary, and Rubbed Thyme.  Various spice combinations are also available from top chef Konrad Geiger.  His sophisticated Organic Gourmet creations are made with dates, mangos, hops, green tea or hickory salt (Germany).

Chalo (stand H64) is a Belgian start-up launching funky feel good food under the Chalo brand.  This year they are introducing four flavours of authentic natural Indian Chai Latte to the show.  Also showcasing: natural chunks of nuts and dried fruits, spicy coated natural green peas, chickpeas and edamame, and a wide range of organic products, such as rice, lentils, superfoods and ancient grains (new exhibitor, Belgium).

Bio Green Food (stand F64) is showcasing Greenherz – a new range of cereals, seeds, products for breakfast, pasta, rice, marmalade, juice, oil, sugar, wine and more.  It will also be exhibiting imported and exported organic vegetables, and citrus and tropical fruits (Spain).

Known for its organic fair trade chocolate, Loving Earth (stand F27) has launched a new and expanded range of Buckini Cereals.  Coining the term Buckinis for activated buckwheat, a protein packed seed that forms the base for the breakfast cereal, the range includes seven flavours.  Familiar favourites Deluxe, Caramelised and Chocolate are now joined by Berry & Cacao, Nut & Seed, Berry Choc and Protein Power (new exhibitor, Australia).

Spack (stand J60) is a supplier of all kinds of organic vegetable oils, including sunflower, rapeseed, safflower, sesame, palm, and coconut. They have their own crushing facility from seed to oil, and are able to process and bottle products in different types of packaging (new exhibitor, Holland).

Irjimpa SL (stand F72) is promoting a wide selection of Manchego cheese, made from its breed of La Mancha sheep.  Organic products include rosemary, garlic, butter, truffles, and soft cheeses, made under the D.O. Manchego certification (new exhibitor, Spain).

Ecoturca (stand F02) work on organic projects with contracted farmers in Turkey, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Ethiopia.  Organic products on show include: red lentils, green lentils, chick peas, beans, natural sesame, organic flaxseeds, sunflower kernel, yellow and green peas, feed corn, soybeans, and wheat (new exhibitor, Turkey).

biosanica Manufaktur GmbH (stand C54) is promoting its new 100% organic vegetable chips for 2015.  The range includes zucchini chips, organic carrot chips and organic stem cabbage chips, all created using the latest drying technology without the addition of flavour enhancers, fat, spices or preservatives (new exhibitor, Germany).

Gusto Organic (stand J20) is introducing Gusto Cola, the first organic, low calorie Fairtrade cola available in Europe. Packed with organic essential oils, spices and African cola nut, it contains only 49 calories in a 355ml can.  Also showcasing: its re-packaged organic energy drinks, including Gusto Lemon Energy and Gusto Original, which contain organic guarana with a range of ginsengs and rare botanicals (new exhibitor, UK).

Dried organic fruit and vegetable producer, La Frubense s.l (stand G63) is showcasing a range of products in their natural form, preserved in olive oil or in a vegetable pate (new exhibitor, Spain).

Spanish Trade Support Institution IPEX-CASTILLA LA MANCHA REGION (stand J43) promotes organic food and beverages from Castilla-La Mancha region in Spain to importers and distributers worldwide.  Organic, high-quality products on offer include olive oil, saffron, cheese, vegetables, pistachio nuts, and snacks (new exhibitor, Spain).

Since 1981, Diafood GmbH (stand J08) based in Heidelberg, Germany has been one of the market leaders in organic dehydrated vegetables, herbs and mushrooms. ISO 22000:2005, EU Bio, Bio Suisse, and EcoCert certified, all goods are reprocessed and cleaned at production facilities in accordance with customer’s specifications (new exhibitor, Germany).

Bufo Eko (stand H42) is exhibiting its speciality organic oils and fats, including coconut, argan, black cumin seed, flax seed, hemp, palm, pumpkin and extra virgin olive oil. Refined products are packed in special glass bottles, which are able to offer protection against the harmful effects of light, increasing the shelf life of products (3 years), and improving the quality of sensitive ingredients (new exhibitor, Slovenia).

Fresh from taming the Dragons in the BBC’s Dragons’ Den, The Raw Chocolate Company(stand H43) has just received one of the highest accolades in the foodie world – a Great Taste Award for its Vanoffe Dark Raw Chocolate Bar.  This will be available at the show, along with three product ranges: award winning raw chocolate bars, raw chocolate snacks and supreme foods (UK).

Natural Products Scandinavia 2015

Zukara Sweden (stand D53) is promoting a range of sugar-free, high quality products, including fruit drinks with exotic flavours, marmalades with more fruit pulp, and green tea with low caffeine.  Due to the goodness of the stevia plant, Zukara are able to offer sugar free options to everyday products (Sweden).

Vevaloe Norden AB (stand A35) is promoting an Aloe Vera Fusion Drink – a fresh mix of organic aloe vera together with an array of fruits.  The drink has no additives, no added sugar, and contains iron, calcium and vitamin C (Sweden).

Goodtrade Scandinavia AB (stand D02) is showcasing Caliente – an organic juice-drink infused with chilli, known for its strong release of endorphins when consumed.  Thanks to the distinct flavour and natural kick, Caliente is considered a perfect non-alcoholic alternative.  Caliente comes in two flavours, Cranberry & Pomegranate and Lime & Ginger (Scandinavia).

Megab/Ecos (stand B21) is showcasing a sustainably sourced coconut water from southwest Thailand.  Ecos uses the most sustainable and ethical farming methods for the highest quality and a positive social impact (Sweden).

V-Sell Ekologiska Produkter (stand E01) is showcasing three new organic, gluten and lactose free dressings from the Khosian tea range; including Thousand Island, Garlic, and Salad variants.  It will also be unveiling newly launched organic, KRAV-labelled baking products.  These powders and extracts are available in a range of flavours popular in Nordic cuisine, including ginger, cinnamon, and liquorice (Sweden).

Leader Foods Oy (stand C36) is introducing its range of organic BareBar raw food bars in four organic flavours: Blueberry-Banana, Cranberry, Sea Buckthorn-Orange and Mango-Honey-Ginger.  All bars are made from scratch in controlled factories in Finland to ensure the best quality (Finland).

Lifefood Czech Republic s.r.o (stand E41) is introducing Lifebars, made with the highest quality raw ingredients, and partly with superfoods.  They are produced at low temperatures without heating and without any refined sugars, syrups, artificial sweeteners, starches or gluten, and only sweetened with dried fruits.  Available in 10 flavours,  including fig, chocolate, apricot, cherry, Brazil nut & guarana, berry superfood, chia young barely, and chocolate green protein (Czech Republic).

Chocolate Naive (stand D13) is promoting a new collection of organic chocolate, created after a meticulous analysis of taste, colour, smell and texture. The products have already put Lithuania on the foodie map as a rising star of gourmet chocolate (Lithuania).

Garbanzo Snacks (stand C23) is introducing a new range of roasted chick pea snacks, which are gluten free, low calorie and made from all natural ingredients.  A range of both sweet and savoury snacks in a single portion will be showcased – 30g packs are also available (UK).

Primera Technology Europe (stand D50) is promoting LX2000e Color Label Printer, its newest and fastest pigment inkjet label printer using BS5609 certified ink.  In combination with various synthetic materials, LX2000e labels are highly water and UV resistant.  This durability supports applications such as frozen or refrigerated foods, beverages, but also bath and shower products (Germany).

TEATOX (stand A05) is showcasing its seven tea compositions including, 14 days cure, 28 days cure, Good Morning Tea and Goodnight Tea designed to effectively support the needs of the body, mind, soul, inner beauty and well-being.  TEATOX brings a modern twist to the natural power and ancient wisdom of organic tea (Germany).

Papagrin (stand D28) is introducing a selection of vegan breads, sesame crackers, and exclusive bars and fruit snacks at the show – encouraging consumers to opt for healthy, functional foods made of only natural, raw ingredients (Poland).

TypicalGreen Smoothies (stand A43) is showcasing fruit and vegetable smoothies, with 14.5g of protein and 23g of fibre.  They offer blends of premium quality and collagen as a special treat.  Vegan super fruit choices are available too (Belgium).

biosanica Manufaktur GmbH (stand C54) is showcasing its range of bio dry fruits made from high quality organic apples (grown in in Germany, Austria and South Tyrol) using the latest drying technology.  The range includes crispy organic-applecubes, chips and rings (Germany).

Flavours and colours of biodiversity (stand D35) is showing a wide range of organic products including, organic extra virgin olive oil made from organic trees, and cold cuts of pig meat raised in the open air (Spain).

Rockwell’s Whole Foods (stand B37) is introducing Liquid Coconut Oil in a bottle and spray can.  This organic coconut oil is presented in an innovative form for ease of use in multiple food preparations (Canada).

Alara Wholefoods (stand C30) is promoting its new superfood sweetener Yacon, providing a new dietary solution, with half less sugar than conventional sugar and low GI.  Following on from the successful campaign to the FSA for the approval of Yacon in the EU – it has finally re-landed in Europe.  Yacon is ideal for those watching the waistline and wanting to control blood sugar levels (UK).

First Quality Foods (stand A34) is introducing Artisan Grains – a new brand designed to meet the needs of today’s healthy eating consumers.  The exclusive five strong range of all natural grains and seeds, includes Freekeh and Tricolour Couscous, is available in highly visual, informative and versatile packaging (UK).
