SITS Europe – The Service Desk & IT Support Show announces key appointment

SITS Europe, the major new trade show for the IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Support industry, to be held at Messe Berlin, Germany, on 24-25 September 2013, has announced the appointment of Bettina Bermuth as its Event Manager.

Bermuth has extensive experience in both the trade show and IT industry, having previously held senior positions with the DataCenter Dynamics conferences in London and Madrid and, more recently, as head of marketing and business development at AST Modular, Barcelona, where she has been involved with the global provision of IT infrastructures.

Laura Venables, Diversified Business Communications UK’s group event manager of SITS, said:  “We’re delighted with the appointment of Bettina Bermuth to this important role.  She has a proven track record, with a wealth of experience in launching and delivering successful events in several different countries and has a good understanding of the key issues facing the IT industry in Germany and internationally!”

Bettina Bermuth will be based at Diversified UK’s Brighton office and can be contacted at bbermuth@divcom.co.uk from the end of December 2012.

About SITS Europe – The Service Desk & IT Support Show

SITS Europe is the first major dedicated showcase for the country’s important ITSM sector.  The concept is based on the already successful event model from the UK, which has been developed and fine tuned over the past 19 years, and attracts over 4,500 service desk and business professionals annually.  SITS Europe will take place in Berlin on 24-25 September 2013 and will be run in partnership with Messe Berlin.

Commenting on the launch, Laura Venables, group event manager of SITS, said:  “Germany is the largest economy in Europe and second largest market for the ITSM sector in the world, after the United States.  Yet, until now, incredibly, it hasn’t had a dedicated trade show to this ‘mission-critical’ industry.  The driving force behind the idea has come from the industry where everyone agrees there is a huge gap for an effective event like this, which is more business focused than the more traditional conference model.”

SITS Europe will take place at Messe Berlin, in the largest city in Germany and one of the most popular event destinations.  The venue is already home to many world leading trade shows, including IFA, ITB Berlin and InnoTrans.  In 2011, trade fairs and exhibitions were attended by 20,353 exhibitors and 1.4 million visitors.

The new event will be managed by Diversified Business Communications in the UK.  It will also boast a dedicated team at Messe Berlin, which will liaise with exhibitors and help to deliver a high profile marketing programme, targeting both private and public sector businesses.

SITS Europe is positioned as a highly focussed event providing businesses of all sizes with the opportunity to source new technology, services, suppliers and solutions, along with an unrivalled opportunity to learn from a high profile conference and education programme, with keynotes, seminars, workshops and round table discussions.

A number of companies have already expressed their support, including Bastian Nominacher from  Celonis, who said:  “We are delighted to hear about the upcoming launch of SITS Europe.  We currently work with the organisers at SITS in London – they have such an effective event model and we welcome a similar event here in Germany.”

Wiebke Stather at LANDesk added:  “LANDesk have exhibited at SITS in the UK for over 10 years.  For us, it is one of our most important and effective events of the year.  The German market would benefit from a similar event and SITS Europe is perfectly positioned to serve the German ITSM market.  I also believe Berlin would be a good location for the event.”

Messe Berlin is one of the most successful trade show organizers in the world, their COO, Dr. Christian Göke, said:  “We are very excited to be working with Diversified UK creating a strong task force with both our expertise to provide the European ITSM Market with a high profile market place.”
