DreamHack and Partners to Gather 500+ Business Guests to Discuss Growth of Esports, Brand Marketing and Investment Opportunities

STOCKHOLM — DreamHack, the premier gaming lifestyle festival, and Content Lab are proud to present Nordic Esport Summit 2020, the largest B2B event for esports in the Nordics. This year’s edition will be held in Stockholm, Sweden, on Thursday, August 20, 2020, at Slakthusområdet during the same week as The International 2020 — the world’s largest esports tournament — which will make its first appearance in the Nordics.

Nordic Esport Summit is the new go-to event for professionals in the Nordic countries interested in the business side of esports. The first edition of this one-day event was held in connection to DreamHack’s top-tier arena event, CORSAIR DreamHack Masters Malmö, in 2019. The event serves as a great opportunity to gain a better understanding of the ever-growing esports market, finding investment opportunities and meeting with some of the world’s most influential leaders within the esports industry.

Nordic Esports Summit 2020 will have space for more than 500 business guests, and features nearly 40 on-stage speakers with two tracks in the afternoon — one more focused on brand activation and marketing; and one start-up and tech-focused. This Nordic Esports Summit will focus on networking,  with specific sections for pre-selected, one-on-one meetings.

“Nordic Esports Summit 2019 was a great success in Malmö, and we are now very eager to elevate the experience with a new Stockholm edition. We’re really excited to team-up with Content Lab and Atrium Ljungberg, as Nordic Esports Summit 2020 will be hosted in Slakthusområdet, in direct connection to Ericsson Globe,” said DreamHack Co-CEO Marcus Lindmark. “As the largest esports company in the Nordics, and as a Stockholm-based company, we want to gather the esports industry during the week of The International and show our home town, while also discussing the business side of esports. Stockholm is one of the leading tech hubs in the world, but it is also home for esports companies such as DreamHack, Fragbite, NiP, Esportal, G-loot, Challengermode, Abios and many more.”

”We are thrilled to launch the second edition of Nordic Esport Summit, together with Dreamhack and Atrium Ljungberg,” said Kunal Chopra, Chief Operating Officer and Product Owner at Content Lab by Differ. “The response we got from everyone involved, whether it was our partners or our delegates, in Malmö was satisfying. The news of The International finally coming to Stockholm this year made the decision of the whereabouts for the second edition of the Nordic Esport Summit very easy. The business side of esports and gaming, from all over the world, will be in Stockholm and our hope is to create the natural forum for meetings and exchange of information. The whole world will be watching Stockholm and we didn't want to miss the chance to really show our participants what it’s all about, as we will be 5 minutes away from the Ericsson Globe."

"Esports and gaming is a growing industry in terms of both number of participants and in pure financial terms, and in Sweden we can pride ourselves with having some of the world’s foremost players in the industry. We are following the industry closely in order to ensure we can create the best locations for the industry’s growth. Slakthusområdet is one of the areas that is especially interesting for these companies in terms of setting up operations. Close proximity to the Ericsson Globe area and its arenas offers fantastic synergies for both gaming and esports companies, as well as from the perspective of visitors. We will see concrete examples of these synergies now when The International esports event is held," said Linus Kjellberg, Business Development Director at Atrium Ljungberg.

The summit has room for 600 delegates who will all be able to listen to interesting speakers and panel discussions whilst enjoying the best hospitality, including lunch and networking dinner in the evening.
