MalmöLAN returns on September 27-29

DreamHack, and the City of Malmö, today announced the return of MalmöLAN in Malmö, Sweden, on September 27-29, 2019. This time, the event will be held at the Malmömässan convention center and with gaming activities and competitions for all ages. MalmöLAN features BYOC LAN area, card game, tabletop games, and a streaming zone, among other things. Furthermore, the event will host the “Gymnasiemästerskapet” esports tournament where schools from all over the Malmö Region competes for the championship title.

BYOC, ESPORTS, EXPO

The BYOC area at MalmöLAN has a capacity of 250 participants and is open 24/7 from Friday morning until the event closes on Sunday. Visitors will be able to meet up with organizations from Malmö in the expo area as “Malmö kortspelsförening”, “Spelens hus”, “Malmö FGC” ,and more, organize activities throughout the weekend. The MalmöLAN stage will feature several acitivities, such as the “Gymnasiemästerskapet” esports tournament with popular esports titles such as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, League of Legends, and Rocket League, represented.

MALMÖ GAME WEEK 

Malmö, home to several successful game developers, is determined to become one of the leading gaming hubs in Europe. As part of this aspiration, the city has created Malmö Game Week to connect the industry, the game developers and the community through different events including esports, board game championships, BYOC LAN, cosplay, expos, conferences, workshops. Malmö Game Week concludes with the CORSAIR DreamHack Masters Malmö CS:GO tournament, featuring 16 of the best teams in the world and a 250,000 USD prize pool.

MalmöLAN is the perfect opportunity for all BYOC fans in the region to attend a local event, but also for those without experience to get their first taste of the joys of BYOC. To secure a spot at the BYOC you’ll need a BYOC ticket which costs 400 SEK. All other areas, besides the BYOC, are open to the public and does not require a ticket.
