E-CENTIVES, INC. CREATES COMPREHENSIVE INTERACTIVE DATABASE MARKETING SYSTEM WITH ACQUISITION OF BRIGHTSTREET, INC.'S ASSETS Combination provides unique data tracking capabilities to help fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies build and promote direct consumer relationships e-centives, Inc., the US-based provider of online direct marketing technologies and services, today announced that it has completed its acquisition of the assets of BrightStreet, Inc., a developer of sophisticated promotional and data tracking technologies that allow companies to build stronger relationships with their customers through the Internet. Particularly important is the ability for FMCG manufacturers, whose current relationship with customers is mainly through retailers, to build direct relationships through services such as secure and targeted coupons that can be printed from a user's computer and redeemed in retail shops. This system is better able address the concerns about the potential for fraud in Internet couponing. BrightStreet's proven Internet marketing applications and extensive expertise provide e-centives' clients with a complete solution that enables them to: · use the Internet to deliver secure, customised, fully trackable marketing programmes and promotions that drive offline sales · track redemptions by "closing the loop" to identify various consumer segments and analyse their purchase behavior · gain unparalleled insights about consumer preferences and motivations · enhance consumer relationships with rich data modeling and sophisticated targeting. Kamran Amjadi, e-centives chairman and CEO, said: "We are convinced that BrightStreet is the leading technology platform for the delivery of key Internet-based promotional programmes such as secure and targeted coupons that can be printed from a user's computer and individually tracked to offline redemptions. This closed-loop marketing technology provides one of the few mechanisms to precisely track marketing return on investment, along with individual and aggregate consumer data. Coupled with e-centives existing infrastructure, services and leading applications such as email marketing and data mining, our clients can now enjoy a sophisticated and comprehensive solution that is unique in the marketplace." BrightStreet has developed leading, patented technologies for companies to identify, build and manage consumer databases with precise consumer purchases. This technology and infrastructure is used for powering a variety of promotional offerings, including coupons, rebates, sales circulars, surveys, trial offers and loyalty programmes. The BrightStreet system was built to meet the stringent requirements of Fast Moving Consumer Goods manufacturers with benefits that cross many other industries, delivering secure, trackable promotions that can be tailored and analysed market-by-market, store-by-store, consumer-by-consumer. Scott Wills, BrightStreet's former CEO and e-centives' current senior vice president, said: "We are extremely proud of our accomplishments in building the industry's most powerful promotions platform and, through our development, securing a number of significant patents which enable us to provide extensive protection to our clients. But more importantly, we have tested our platform with some of the world's leading FMCG brands and successfully expanded our solutions with them both in the U.S. and internationally. Our product's campaign management, delivery, data tracking and reporting capabilities are now considerably enhanced when combined with the e-centives technology platform and delivery services. Our clients gain the benefit of a fully integrated and unified system that provides a single view of individual consumer behaviour and allows more innovative ways to promote and enhance consumer relationships." BrightStreet executives and personnel have joined the e-centives staff, expanding operations in the company's San Francisco Bay Area office.
