Press release February 8, 2024

Wegesrand will produce a playful digital twin for the city of Bielefeld to visualise the district of Sennestadt as part of a smart city citizen participation process.

The project with a budget of close to 2.0 MSEK (170 000 EUR) was won in a public tender. With this project, Wegesrand will enlarge its services in interactive information platforms.

Wegesrand, CEO, Thorsten Unger, comments:

"We are using open streetmap data to visualise a 3D model of the city which could be modified similar to "SimCity"or other city planning games - but with real data for real city planners. By using this approach, we will deliver an awesome project. We are more than happy to do this together with the Smart City initiative of the City of Bielefeld."
