JACOB & CO. MAGNIFICENT TIMEPIECES AND JEWELS EXHIBITION DRAWS MONTE CARLO SOCIETY AT DAZZLING OPENING NIGHT GALA
MONTE CARLO, MONACO: Jacob & Co., the legendary diamond jewelry and fine watchmaking house, celebrated the launch of its annual exhibition in Monaco, Monte Carlo with a glittering gala evening at the Hotel Hermitage on August 7th 2014.
Establishing the event as one of the highlights of Monaco’s summer social calendar, founder and chairman of the luxury brand Jacob Arabo was joined by international royalty, VIPs and the best of Monte Carlo society on the red carpet.
Among the hundreds of guests in attendance at the spectacular event were HRH His and Her Royal Highnesses Prince Charles and Princess Camilla of Bourbon Two Sicilies, Prince Michael of Yugoslavia, Lord Eastleigh and Marchioness Roberta Gilardi Sestito. Also present at the cocktail gala were international VIP clientele such as actress Lamitta Frangieh, former Miss World Ksenia Sukanova, actor and businessman Bjorn Gunnar Lefnaer and lawyer Michael Jeffrey Griffith. Other notable guests who attended included, Alvaro de Marichalar, Victoria Shelagova, Andrei Fomin, Emilia Kazandjian, Marina Dolidze and Anastasia Belyak.
Speaking at the event, Chairman and Founder Jacob Arabo said, “We could not be more delighted with the success of this evening.” He continued, “We feel so honored to have so many special friends of the brand here with us, many of whom have flown in from other parts of the world to be here with us.”
Taking over the hotel’s Salle Belle Époque ballroom, gala guests were dazzled by the Magnificent Timepieces and Jewels Exhibition. The party got into full swing on the twinkling candlelit terrace of the historic Hotel Hermitage, with its stunning sweeping views of the Monte Carlo bay below.
Referencing the annual exhibit, Arabo added, “For the past two years Monte Carlo has been our summer home and we are delighted to return with this year’s exhibition. Tonight’s Gala showcases our collection of extremely rare high jewelry and innovative timepieces that are unique to our brand. It appears our guests have been thrilled and delighted by these very rare gems."
One of the most talked about pieces at the exhibition is the Blue Nile ring, which features a 12,38ct natural blue, flawless diamond. Other highlights of the high-jewelry collection include a pair of flawless emerald and diamond drop earrings that originate from the Muzo mines in Colombia and a unique set of unheated Burmese 'Pigeon's Blood Red' Rubies, just as rare as the Golconda diamonds themselves.
Always a highlight, the timepiece collection being showcased in Monte Carlo include the highly celebrated Astronomia Tourbillon. Named one of the top new timepieces across dozens of media outlets since it was first unveiled at BaselWorld Watch Fair in the spring of 2014, the Astronomia has earned accolades for its tremendously creative design and its kinetic high complication.
The exhibition will continue through August 23rd at The Hotel Hermitage and is open to the public from 5pm – 11pm daily, with private appointments by request.
