Eltel’s newly acquired Edi.Son wins a power line contract in Germany
Eltel’s newly acquired Edi.Son has won a 380 kV overhead line contract with Amprion GmbH in Germany. Edi.Son will build a 7 km section of the new Rommerskirchen-Sechtem line. The new line will replace existing ones and contribute to increasing the power transmission capacity in north-south direction, which is an important precondition for the German Energiewende implementation.
The scope of the contract is the disassembly of an existing overhead line and the construction of the new one, which will be equipped with four 380 kV circuits, partially with two 220 kV rsp. 110 kV circuits in addition. The construction of the line will take approximately 18 months and is scheduled to start in January/February 2016.
Fredrik Menander, President Eltel Power Transmission comments:
“Winning this contract is a great proof of Edi.Son’s position in the German market. This is the first 380 kV contract won since Eltel acquired Edi.Son this spring. We are happy to continue the development of Edi.Son as an important part of our power transmission business in Germany”.
