Eltel sends 38 technicians to Ireland to assist ESB Networks with Storm Éowyn restoration efforts
This morning, 38 skilled Eltel technicians landed in Dublin to support ESB Networks in restoring electricity supplies following the unprecedented damaged caused by Storm Éowyn. From Dublin, the skilled technicians will travel to the North-West of Ireland which is one of the mostly severely impacted areas.
Eltel’s team of technicians were assembled over the weekend from teams located across Finland. The technicians’ tools and equipment were delivered to Ireland on a charter cargo flight, which also arrived in Ireland today, Tuesday. Following Storm Éowyn, approximately 600,000 customers (as at 11.30am on Tuesday) have had their power restored following Storm Éowyn, however, approx. 168,000 remain without electricity. ESB Networksis receiving support not only from Finland but also from electricity network operators in France, Austria, the Netherlands, and Great Britain.
