Following the implementation of several successful initiatives, Envirotainer now operates the largest fleet of active temperature controlled ULDs in the world, approved by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). This is an important milestone in the company’s efforts towards providing customers and partners with an open and efficient platform worldwide.

Envirotainer, the market leader in secure cold chain logistics solutions within the life science industries, recently gained approval of its’ RKN e1 container by the FAA for uplift on U.S. flagged and/or FAA regulated carriers last year. This helped solidify Envirotainer's continued commitment to the life science industries in the United States, including North and South America, and any other country trading with the U.S.

“This is an important step in Envirotainer’s strive to further strengthen our position as the market leader, and will support our goal of offering unparalleled services to the life science industry on a worldwide basis,” Mattias Almgren, Deputy Chief Executive Officer, at Envirotainer said. “On a practical level, the globally approved fleet will further enhance the availability of our containers, especially on the U.S. market, and is accompanied by investments in additional resources and a new regional headquarters in New York.”

In addition, Envirotainer recently announced that one-way leases from North America to Europe are possible for FAA regulated carriers who have approved the RKN e1 (for all other trade lanes Round-Trip rules apply). The RKN e1 network stations for FAA release include the following airports: Tel Aviv (TLV), Seattle-Tacoma (SEA), Los Angeles (LAX), San Francisco (SFO), Chicago O’Hare (ORD), Newark Liberty (EWR), Luis Munoz Marin (SJU), Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta (ATL), London Heathrow (LHR), and Amsterdam Schiphol (AMS). Furthermore, United Airlines, Atlas Air Cargo, Kalitta Air, ABX Air, and Amerijet have gained technical approval from the FAA. These carriers are now able to carry the Envirotainer RKN e1.

In the past year alone, the company has taken several steps to strengthen its position, including the opening of a new U.S. Headquarter and Cold Chain Competence Center in New York, a stronger product and service offering, and the increase of production and of its container fleet size to satisfy market demand.
