Etteplan and Weckman Steel Oy start cooperation in trailer engineering
Weckman Steel Oy, known for its steel roofs and trailers, develops and manufactures diverse steel products. Etteplan and Weckman have signed an agreement to transfer the tractor trailer engineering to Etteplan. The transferred product development and design of trailers will continue in accordance with Etteplan's LEAN model.
"The cooperation agreement with Weckman strengthens Etteplan's position and expertise in vehicle and mobile machinery engineering, enhancing our capabilities in related technologies and testing. Our experience in official certification processes adds value by ensuring compliance with product and production requirements as well as roadworthiness standards. Our goal is to develop and take planning activities forward," says Riku Riikonen, SVP for Engineering Solutions at Etteplan.
"The cooperation agreement brings continuity and new opportunities to the product development and business operations of Weckman trailers, which started already in the 1960s. Etteplan’s expertise will help us take the operations to the next level.
