Engineering company Etteplan Oyj has reinforced its software design expertise by purchasing Koodain Solutions Oy, a software development and technology consultancy company. The acquisition is in line with Etteplan’s growth strategy, which has at its heart organic growth and the strengthening of expertise through acquisitions.

The acquisition strengthens Etteplan’s expertise particularly in Android software design. Eleven experts from Koodain Solutions, a Jyväskylä-based Android expertise and software solution company, will transfer to Etteplan as existing employees and co-operation with subcontractors will also continue.

Etteplan, specialising in industrial equipment and plant engineering services, embedded systems, IoT (Internet of Things), and technical documentation solutions, already employs some 200 people in Jyväskylä.

“The experts transferring from Koodain Solutions to Etteplan will significantly boost our ability to respond to customers’ digitalisation challenges and will enhance our expertise in mobile system software development,” says Etteplan’s Senior Vice President, Embedded systems and IoT, Kari Liuska.

“Transferring to Etteplan provides us with many new opportunities to develop our competence as part of a larger company and to offer software solutions to a broader clientele,” says CEO Jukka Laurinmaa from Koodain Solutions.
