.eu General Manager remarks on domain industry changes

Brussels, 5 June 2012 – General Manager of the .eu registry EURid, Marc Van Wesemael, shares his views about the upcoming introduction of more generic top-level domains (gTLDs) in the .eu 2011 annual report.

“By reflecting on what we achieved at .eu in 2011, we can look ahead with confidence to the changes that thousands of new gTLDs will bring to our industry,” said Mr Van Wesemael. “I consider .eu to be well placed to meet these market challenges as it inherently conveys a strong message that appeals to a large demographic - namely the 27 countries of the European Union.”
