.eu at web events in Bulgaria and Slovakia

Brussels, 9 November 2012 EURid, the .eu top-level domain registry, will be present at three events in Bulgaria and Slovakia in mid-November 2012 to continue to raise the visibility of .eu domain names in Central Europe.

In Bulgaria, EURid is one of the main partners of the BGSite 2012 competition
. At the award ceremony in Sofia on 12 November, EURid will present the prize for the best .eu website in the “Education and Science” category.

The .eu registry is also sponsoring Bulgaria’s Domain Forum 2012 conference (in Sofia, 15-16 November), at which External Relations Manager, Giovanni Seppia,
will speak about the multilingual Internet. The presentation, based on the recent “EURid-UNESCO World report on Internationalised Domain Names deployment 2012”, is from 11:00 to 11:30 on 15 November. The EURid-UNESCO report is available for download at http://link.eurid.eu/insights.

In Slovakia, EURid is exhibiting at the DailyWeb Conference in Bratislava on 14 November. .eu has experienced considerable growth in Slovakia with .eu domain name registrations increasing by 23% in the year to Q2 2012. Similarly, .eu registrations have grown by 11.4% in Bulgaria over the same time.

EURid’s Liaison Managers for Slovakia and Hungary, Matúš Macurák and Ester Szilágyiová respectively, are available for interviews during the DailyWeb Conference. EURid’s Regional Manager for Bulgaria, Miglena Lecheva, is attending BGSite 2012 and will also be available for interviews, as will EURid’s Giovanni Seppia during Domain Forum 2012.
