.eu attends Ondernemen/Entreprendre 2012 in Belgium, 28-29 March

Brussels, 14 March 2012 – EURid, the .eu top-level domain registry, will be present at the Ondernemen/Entreprendre trade fair in Brussels, Belgium, from 28-29 March 2012. The fair focuses on entrepreneurs who are keen to set up their own business. This is the third time that EURid will be participating.

“We consider it is important to participate in events for start-ups, since small and medium sized business are an important driver of the European economy,” comments EURid’s General Manager, Marc Van Wesemael. “Furthermore, start-ups require an online presence, so for us Ondernemen/Entreprendre is the perfect opportunity for entrepreneurs to get acquainted with .eu, the Internet extension that shows that their company is open for business across Europe.”

In Belgium, .eu domain name registrations grew by 9.9% during 2011. There are currently more than 110 000 .eu domain names registered to Belgian businesses, organisations and individuals. The .eu extension is ideally suited for businesses with cross-border operations by enabling companies to express the fact that they are open for business in other European Union markets..eu registrations increased in 23 of the 27 EU Member States during Q4 2011.
