Everfuel: Update on hydrogen trailer fleet

Report this content

Herning, Denmark, 28 June 2023 – With reference to the announcement made 19 June 2023, Everfuel today provides a status update on the hydrogen trailer fleet.

The detailed investigation of the leak has identified the root cause for the valve malfunction to a set of improper tightened bolts, eventually causing an O-ring to burst. The root cause concludes an assembly error on the valve supplier production line. The assembly error was not detected by valve supplier quality control nor by the trailer suppliers’ quality inspection. Mitigating actions will be implemented at both trailer supplier and valve supplier to eliminate similar situations and implement best market praxis. These include updated procedures for continued verification of tightness throughout the lifetime of the trailers.

To verify that the fault is not systematic a campaign is initiated in close cooperation between Everfuel, trailer supplier and valve supplier. Following a successful campaign, the trailers will sequentially be refilled and redeployed to hydrogen stations in a prioritised order. Everfuel expects to provide an estimated plan for the restart of our hydrogen distribution and hydrogen stations by Monday 3 July.

Everfuel and our suppliers are sorry for the inconvenience that the situation cause our customers. For most recent updates on trailers and stations follow: https://www.everfuel.com/update/

Everfuel will also report further on the incident as part of the Q2 report on august 30th.
