Team Falken’s Yoshihide Muroya has claimed his first victory at the third race of this year's Red Bull Air Race World Championship, which was held on 4-5 June 2016 at Makuhari Seaside Park in Chiba, Japan. This is the second season that Falken has sponsored Muroya, who is the only Asian pilot competing in the championship.

Held in Japan for the second time, this year's Chiba race attracted 90,000 spectators. After strong stints in the first and second rounds, Muroya continued to demonstrate outstanding aerial speed and precision on the decisive Final 4 round to claim his first ever Red Bull Air Race victory on home soil. Not only is he the first ever Japanese pilot to win a race in the championship, but is the first pilot to do so from Asia.

Muroya’s strong performance in the championship and competitions around the world has earned him widespread recognition, creating strong compatibility between him and Falken’s high performance tyre products and cutting-edge technologies. Five more races remain in this year’s Red Bull Air Race World Championship where Muroya aims for further success, with the championship heading to the UK on 13-14 August at Ascot in Berkshire.
