Falken Selected as an Official Partner
Sumitomo Rubber Industries, Ltd. (SRI) is pleased to announce our support of 'Red Bull Air Race Chiba 2015' as an official partner through our Falken brand.
Through our Falken brand, SRI is proud to support ‘Red Bull Air Race Chiba 2015', the second of eight races being held as part of ‘Red Bull Air Race World Championship 2015’ and the first Red Bull Air Race to be held in Japan.
In this race series, world-class air race pilots will fly specialised high-speed, highly-manoeuvrable race planes at speeds of up to 370km/h through a low-altitude aerial race course composed of 25m-tall air-filled pylons (called air gates). This competition, which tests the pilots in terms of both speed and precision flying, is part of a world air race championship that is officially recognised by Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FIA – the World Air Sports Federation).
At the same time, SRI has also signed a sponsorship agreement with Yoshihide Muroya, the only pilot from Asia who will be competing in this race series in the Master Class. This is a clear sign of the compatibility between Yoshihide Muroya, a pilot whose outstanding and hard-won skills have taken him around the world and earned him great recognition on the global stage, and the brand image of Falken, a brand known for its high-performance tyres, developed using the latest in cutting-edge technology, in markets in North America, Europe and, now, around the world.
