New Faster 465 - A compact novelty with features of a larger boat

In August 2024 Faster will launch a new 4,65 m long pure aluminium boat model that is above all designed as a compact but versatile allrounder. The spacious open bow makes it suited for transporting goods, and it also works well for recreational fishing. The novelty’s features and driving characteristics are familiar from our larger boats, making it a natural entry-level model into the wondrous world of Faster.

Faster 460i, which has been in our model range for numerous years, is in August 2024 replaced by a new entry-level model. The new Faster 465, which showcases the new facelift of the Faster models for season 2025, is equipped with a wider steering console than its predecessor, providing the driver and co-driver with better windshield while still enabling easy passage inside the boat. As in the 460i model, the console of the new 465 will also be movable from the centre of the boat to the starboard side, which makes the novelty versatile to use. The console has more storage capacity and the windshield itself is out of genuine glass. On the front side of the steering console is a quick-fix aluminium rail onto which accessories can easily be mounted, as well as two incorporated aluminium steps to facilitate embarking over the side of the boat.

The novelty is steered sitting on the stern bench, which has been fully renewed.
The bench is somewhat higher than before, improving ergonomics and making it more effortless to use the Raymarine Axiom+ chartplotter, which is included in the boat’s standard equipment. The newly designed seat box that acts as stern bench, has plenty of storage capacity, a new locking mechanism, a gas spring for practicality and it includes a Smartdeck surface coating as standard. The Smartdeck coating is durable, it insulates from cold or heat, and it is easy to keep clean. The separately sold seat cushion and backrest padding will also get a new design due to both the seat box update and the facelift of the whole model range.

Other improvements include e.g. a rope compartment on either side of the engine well, navigational lights installed onto the hull sides in the bow and wider wire conduits drawn to the bow. As boating and especially fishing includes more and more electronics, the wider wire conduits make it easier to draw wires for electronic devices, such as auxiliary trolling engines, used in the bow.

As a moderately small sized boat it should be noted that the Faster 465 has several valued features that are mostly seen on somewhat larger boats - it includes hydraulic steering as standard, a fully rain water draining interior, easily maintainable rainwater outlets on the hull sides next to the stern bench and the above mentioned, standardly included chartplotter. The durable and stable aluminium hull is made without any lifting strakes, which ensures smooth rides and great driving characteristics. The hull of the 465 model is produced with the same care and precision as the Faster workboats and larger leisure boat models, making sure it is extremely safe for boaters of all ages. Faster has solid experience in producing work boats for authoritative use, including fire departments, SAR services and oil spill response workers - professionals who need to be able to rely on their equipment in all weather conditions. In producing leisure boats, we draw from this experience. All out boats are still today manufactured in Finland.

Faster boats are manufactured by Juha Snell Oy, a Finnish family-owned boat building company that was founded back in 1974. All Faster boats are made out of durable marine aluminium, still today produced fully in Finland at the factory premises in Kellokoski. The production is divided into workboats (for professional use) and leisure boats. Year 2024 marks an important milestone in the company’s history, as it celebrated 50 years in the boat building industry. During the years close to 10 000 Faster boats have left the production lines. The company is still run by the same family.
