Helsinki Airport, operated by Finavia, in cooperation with Finngold Oy introduces two new fashion watch and jewellery stores offering well-known luxury brands. This is the first step in a major modification and modernisation of Helsinki Airport's commercial activities.

Finavia has entered into a contract with a Finnish fashion watch and jewellery retailer and wholesaler Finngold Oy. Finngold brings brand named watches and jewellery into two new shops at Helsinki Airport, in Terminal 2 in the Schengen area. Finngold has already showcased its appeal to travellers with a successful retail outlet in Terminal 2 Non Schengen area. The new shops will be opened in July and early August. Introducing new retail outlets is the first step in a major re-design of all commercial activities at the airport. Helsinki Airport’s development project was announced publicly in the beginning of July.

One of the new stores covering 57 square meters will offer Pandora, Swarovski and Thomas Sabo in a multi-brand environment, combining the strengths of all three brands and providing an attractive offer for the visitors at the airport. The other 47 square meter store will carry Bering, Gant, Michael Kors, Guess and Gucci, also in a multi-brand offering. The selected brands well meet the expectations and desires of the traveller profile at the airport, promising a successful retail operation.

"We are more than delighted, that we have been able to setup these two new stores together with the brand owners and retailer in a very short time. The concepts reflect very well the future commercial strategy at Helsinki Airport, aiming to provide travellers exactly what they are demanding. We are also happy to offer an opportunity for expansion to a current retailer that has shown good performance and a positive mind-set towards our aim to improve the commercial offer at Helsinki Airport. Contacts with the brand representatives have also been very positive. We are confident that we are soon able to inform you about additional interesting openings taking place in a near future. Helsinki Airport provides an attractive platform for brands for reaching a very international group of consumers", says Jukka Isomäki, Vice President of Commercial Services at Finavia.
