    Finnair adds flights to popular destinations in Lapland for Easter weeks in April and during the peak autumn foliage season from August to October. Frequencies are also added for popular events next summer.  In the run-up to Easter, flights are added to Kuusamo and Rovaniemi, where the end of the ski season is at its best in April.     Service Sector Employers Palta and the Finnish Air Line Pilots' Association SLL have been negotiating on a collective labour agreement for Finnair pilots since August. SLL has today rejected the settlement proposal submitted by the National Conciliator on Monday 9 December, which the employer would have accepted.     The Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) has announced a walk-out in the ground operations atf Helsinki Airport. According to IAU's announcement, the illegal walk-out will take place today, Monday 2 December at 14:00 – 16:15 EET. Ground operations employees work, for example, in aircraft maintenance, catering, customer service tasks at Helsinki Airport and ground handling tasks in baggage loading.     The Finnish Air Line Pilots' Association has announced a strike taking place on 9 and 13 December 2024.     Finnair is renewing the cabins of its Embraer fleet to increase passenger comfort also on shorter routes. The first refurbished Embraer cabin is now completed, and the target is to renew the entire fleet of 12 Embraer aircraft by spring 2026.     Finnair’s science-based climate target sets the company on an ambitious path to reduce its carbon emissions by 2033

    Finnair has redefined its climate commitments and set a new science-based target to reduce its carbon emissions intensity (CO2e/RTK) by 34.5 % by 2033 from a 2023 baseline. The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has validated Finnair's target. Translated to absolute CO2e emissions, the target equates to a reduction of approximately 13% in CO2e emissions using the parameters that have been established for the period.  SBTi requires airlines to decarbonize within their own operations, and Finnair’s toolkit to reaching the target is comprised of investing in Sustainable aviation fuels (
