Fortum to provide environmental performance technology to power plant in Edenderry, Ireland
FORTUM CORPORATION PRESS RELEASE 29 May 2018
Fortum has signed a low-NOx combustion technology agreement with Bord na Móna in Ireland for its Edenderry peat and biomass power plant. The agreement covers the whole turnkey project from process design to commissioning and implementation of the combustion technology for the 128-MW co-fired power plant (fueled with a mixture of peat and biomass). The project has started immediately and is due to be completed by the end of this year.
“Fortum has long experience in designing and building low-NOx combustion technology solutions for different types of power plants and running the projects successfully. We are happy to help our customer to improve its operations and reduce emissions. With our support the Edenderry power plant can continue to meet stronger environmental regulations,” says Kari Lahti, Head of Performance, Fortum eNext.
For Fortum, this new agreement is the continuation of a long history of improving our customers environmental and financial performance. We work together towards a cleaner world by building immediate environmental solutions before the long-term investments to renewable production are in place.
