    FORTUM CORPORATION PRESS RELEASE 31.7.2024 The annual outage of Fortum’s Loviisa nuclear power plant will begin with Unit 2 on Sunday, August 4th, followed by the servicing of Unit 1. This year, Loviisa 2 will undergo a short outage and Loviisa 1 will undergo the extensive annual outage, i.e. the so-called 4-year annual outage. The annual outages are expected to last approximately 51 days. During the annual outages, a quarter of the fuel will be replaced.     FORTUM CORPORATION PRESS RELEASE 4.1.2024 Fortum’s Loviisa nuclear power plant had a good production year in 2023. The power plant generated a total of 8.09 terawatt-hours of carbon-free electricity.  Loviisa 1 generated 3.99 TWh of power and its load factor was 89.79%; Loviisa 2 generated 4.10 TWh of power and its load factor was 92.32%.     Both units at Fortum’s Loviisa nuclear power plant are back in production upon completion of their annual outages. The annual outage of Unit 2 lasted nearly 26 days, until 13 September 2019, and the maintenance outage of Unit 1 lasted 20 days, until 27 September. Both units underwent a refuelling outage, during which about one quarter of the fuel was replaced.
