This is a very personal, long-term cause for Fred because we see the impact that MND has on one of our team every day. We hope that by doing this Team Ice Bucket Challenge we can help raise awareness and funds for MND in the UK. Thanks to everyone who has supported us so far - the spot is still open for the person to dispense the water so donate now and it could be you!

Prior to my husband, Carl, being diagnosed with MND, we had rarely heard of the condition and had no idea how dramatically it would change our lives forever. The most terrifying thing about this disease is that it can happen to anyone – there is no known cause. Tragically, that also means there is no known cure, which is why it is so important to raise funds for the MNDA so that they can continue their research and learn more about this terrible illness. Even the smallest of donations can help this fantastic charity, so thank you in advance for your support.

These recent findings have led us to take the decision to offer an 03 number to our customers, to ensure they are not suffering costly phone bills when arranging their trips with TrekAmerica. Many of our customers are under the age of 30 and, we anticipate, most likely to be calling us from a mobile device. We don’t want them to be penalised for this. Booking an adventure tour should be an exciting experience and we want to ensure our customers feel that from start to finish.

The recent reports are very worrying and the problem is wide reaching. We support the call for a new EU law to enforce that helplines should only be charged at no more than a basic rate and hope that our decision to move away from high rate numbers will encourage other operators in the sector to do the same.

We are the sector specialists when it comes to travelling the Americas and we wanted to use that knowledge and expertise to create some truly unique and exclusive experiences for our customers. We’ve put a strong focus on developing specialist and niche tours for 2014 and hope that travellers enjoy the variety of new trips on offer.
