Gasum’s filling stations open to OKQ8 IDS fuel card holders for easier access to cleaner fuels

Nordic gas sector and energy market expert Gasum is starting a strategic partnership with OKQ8, one of the largest fuel companies in Scandinavia, which opens Gasum gas filling stations to OKQ8 IDS fuel card holders during the fall. The collaboration paves the way for a more accessible and efficient transition to low-emission fuels.

Gasum and OKQ8 both strive towards cleaner energy and the collaboration will enable OKQ8 IDS fuel card holders to access Gasum’s extensive nationwide network of gas filling stations, providing greater convenience and ease of access to both LNG (liquefied natural gas) and LBG (liquefied biogas). This is a significant step in the joint mission to remove barriers within the energy sector making the shift to more sustainable practices easier for transport companies.

“Through this collaboration, our customers can refuel with LBG or LNG nationwide while consolidating all fuel costs onto a single invoice, whether they choose diesel, HVO100, LBG or LNG. Additionally, they benefit from all the other advantages of the IDS card, including enhanced security and service, says Helen Axelsson, Director B2B Sales at OKQ8.

"We have at a rapid pace invested heavily in the Swedish filling station network, achieving our initial goal of opening 25 gas filling stations within five years – an important milestone. Now, through the partnership with OKQ8, we are expanding our efforts and have created more than one path towards greener road transport on our journey toward zero carbon emissions,”- Sharareh Edström, Director, Traffic Sweden, Gasum.

This partnership simplifies the transition to low-emission fuels, as LNG reduces Co2 emissions by 20 percent, and LBG on average by 90 percent compared to diesel. It is another step on Gasum’s long-term journey of decarbonizing heavy road transport and broadening its reach for customers.

As domestic road transportation accounts for about one-third of Sweden's greenhouse gas emissions, making progress in energy and transport is crucial for a more sustainable future.
