Getinge, the leader in Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting, reaches unprecedented milestone, three million procedures

Getinge is proud to announce a new milestone in its rich, 20-year history in cardiothoracic surgery solutions. In 2021, Getinge surpassed three million endoscopic vessel harvesting (EVH) procedures performed worldwide using their EVH solutions, which have helped create sustainable, reproducible and long-term patient outcomes. This historic announcement further solidifies Getinge’s leadership position in endoscopic vessel harvesting.

“Every year, millions of people around the world need treatment for blocked or damaged coronary arteries.  We want to help raise awareness of this common disease, so this terrific achievement, which is all thanks to the dedication of medical professionals around the world, helps us increase visibility,” said Eric Honroth, President, Getinge North America.  “The support over the past 20+ years has helped shape and improve this life-saving procedure, and we hope to have wonderful harvesters—both veterans and those just starting their harvesting careers—help us reach four, five, and ten million procedures performed in the coming years.”

As a follow-up to the three million milestone and recognizing the dedication of harvesters to the EVH procedure, Getinge introduces a new program in the U.S. called the Getinge Endoscopic Vessel Harvesting Circle of Excellence. The EVH Circle of Excellence Program recognizes Endoscopic Vessel Harvesters driving EVH adoption, positive patient outcomes positioning EVH as the standard of care. Users are divided into three categories—Gold, Platinum, and Diamond—based on the number of EVH cases performed.

“We are thrilled to launch this program as a way to recognize all the clinicians who are dedicated to performing EVH procedures regardless of the device or manufacturer they use,” said Matthew Clemente, Getinge’s EVH Marketing Manager. “It is imperative we recognize those who have helped to continue the legacy of EVH procedures.”For more information on the program or to nominate yourself or a fellow harvester for this prestigious recognition, please visit the new Getinge EVH Circle of Excellence website.
