Getinge South Asia Pacific launches three innovative OR solutions
Getinge South Asia Pacific has added three new products to its portfolio of operating room (OR) solutions. In addition to the intuitive, safe, smart and connected Maquet Corin OR table, the launch in Singapore also included the versatile Maquet Ezea operating light and Fluoptics® fluorescence imaging solutions, which combine autofluorescence and fluorescence perfusion imaging.
“This launch is the culmination of the efforts and resources from many departments in Getinge including R&D, regulatory, manufacturing, and commercial. We believe these new ‘teammates’ in the OR will help surgical departments to provide improved care for patients through safety and efficiency,” says Philippe Rocher, President of Getinge South Asia Pacific.
Maquet Corin, is designed to streamline the daily routines in today’s busy surgical departments. The user interface provides immediate visual feedback through colour-coded feedback lights. Other safety features include collision detection, overload detection, and tipping prevention.
Maquet Corin is also Getinge’s first connected operating table, able to provide service technicians with a wide range of service data and usage statistics.
Focusing on features that are essential for operating room staff, the Maquet Ezea surgical light is easy to use, built to last and designed to align with evolving risk management standards. Suitable for a wide range of environments, the OR light is fully compliant with the new IEC 60601-2 Ed. 3.0 standard, ensuring safety for patients and comfort for the surgical team.
Maquet Ezea comes in a round shape as well as an ultra-thin and lightweight light head that makes it easy to maneuver and position as well as fixed settings to streamline operations. To support sustainability efforts, this product also features recyclable components as well as low energy LED.
Fluoptics fluorescence imaging, which enables real-time visualization of physiological and biological phenomena that are invisible to the naked eye, helps surgeons achieve greater precision, safety, and efficiency.
In thyroid surgery, the solutions allow detection of parathyroid glands with an optimized image fluidity and a large depth of field, while surgical teams performing plastic and lymphatic procedures get information invisible to the naked eye, such as tissue perfusion, lymphatic drainage status or lymph node location.
“As Getinge celebrates its 120 years anniversary this year, we continue to fulfil our mission to make life-saving technology accessible for more people. These product launches demonstrate our commitment to innovate with purpose, with our customers and patients at the very core,” Philippe concludes.
