Getinge strengthens its position in the UK

Getinge AB today signed an agreement to acquire all shares in Lancer UK Ltd. The company has been Infection Control’s distributor of disinfection equipment in the UK for the past twenty years. Lancer UK Ltd is based in Cambridge and has 45 employees. Customers are found in both the health care and life science sectors. The company’s sales totalled SEK 104 million in fiscal August 2004 – July 2005 and the pre-tax profit was SEK 21 million. The company’s assets were SEK 85 million and liabilities were SEK 33 million on 31 July 2005. The purchase price of SEK 119 million corresponds to an EV/EBITDA multiple of around 5 times based on the financial year that ended on 30 June 2005. Getinge expects to be able to consolidate Lancer UK with effect from October this year. Lancer UK is expected to contribute to the Group’s EPS with effect from 2006.
