Krister Aanesen will take over the position as CEO of Gjensidige Bank when Hans Harén retires later this year. Aanesen is currently Executive Vice President in Gjensidige Forsikring.

The Board of Gjensidige Bank has today decided to appoint Krister Aanesen as the CEO of Gjensidige Bank. He will succeed Hans Harén, who retires later this year after having led the bank since 2011.

‘My time as CEO has been characterised by strong volume growth, at the same time as the bank’s profitability has been strengthened considerably. It is very rewarding to work in an organisation with so many highly capable and committed employees. I am certain that Krister will continue to develop the bank in a good way,’ says Harén.

Aanesen joins the bank on 1 August this year, and will take over as CEO at the turn of the year.

‘The bank has seen a very good development during Hans’s time as CEO, and I am glad that we will have an overlapping period,’ says Aanesen.

He has been acting EVP in Gjensidige Forsikring with responsibility for the Private division since EVP Hege Yli Melhus Ask took parental leave last year. Aanesen holds a master’s degree in engineering from Strathclyde University in the UK, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in the USA.
