    Supreme Court ruling in Denmark on workers’ compensation – updated financial impact to be recognised in Q2 2026

    Reference is made to Gjensidige’s stock exchange release of 28 April 2026 regarding the Danish Supreme Court’s ruling on a reduction in the compensation threshold under the workers’ compensation scheme. Following further analysis of the ruling and its potential implications, Gjensidige has refined its assessment of the financial impact to be recognised in the second quarter of 2026. The negative impact on the insurance service result is estimated at DKK 290 million, net of reserve releases. This reflects claims costs of DKK 490 million and reserve releases of DKK 200 million, both

    Gjensidige Q1 2026: Higher general insurance service result

    Gjensidige generated a profit after tax of NOK 1,548.5 million in the first quarter, reflecting a significant increase in the general insurance service result. The strong growth in insurance revenue continued in the quarter, and the combined ratio improved significantly, reflecting both disciplined pricing measures and high cost efficiency. Favourable driving conditions in Norway also contributed positively.     Confirmation of financial effects from completed Baltic divestment

    Reference is made to the stock exchange releases dated 25 July 2024, regarding Gjensidige Forsikring ASA’s agreement to sell its subsidiary ADB Gjensidige, and 2 January 2026, regarding the completion of the transaction.     Gjensidige Forsikring ASA will today notify Nordic Trustee of its decision to exercise the call option to redeem all outstanding bonds with ISIN NO0010965429. The redemption has been approved by the Financial Supervisory Authority of Norway. The outstanding loan amount is NOK 713 million. Following the payment, no further bonds under the bond issue will be outstanding.     Gjensidige receives approval for 2025 dividend proposal

    The Norwegian Financial Services Authority has approved Gjensidige Forsikring ASA’s application to distribute dividends totaling NOK 7,250 million (NOK 14.50 per share) to shareholders for the 2025 financial year, in line with the proposal from the Board. The dividend proposal consists of a regular dividend of NOK 5,000 million (NOK 10.00 per share) and a special dividend of NOK 2,250 million (NOK 4.50 per share).     Gjensidige notes Supreme Court ruling in Denmark

    Gjensidige notes the recent ruling by the Danish Supreme Court concerning historical pricing practices in the insurance market, in which Tryg prevailed. Based on the Supreme Court’s ruling, Gjensidige has reassessed the accounting provision made in the first quarter of 2024. The company has concluded that the basis for the provision is no longer present and will therefore reverse the provision of DKK 80.0 million in the first quarter of 2026.
