Municipality of Norrtälje to retain Norrtälje Energi

Municipality of Norrtälje to retain Norrtälje Energi No political majority attainable for a sale of the municipality's power transmission network, electricity sales and district heating operations. In early April, Närvärme Sverige AB signed an agreement with the municipality of Norrtälje to acquire the shares in Norrtälje Energi. As part of the arrangement, Graninge AB was to buy the company's power transmission network and electricity sales operations. The validity of the agreement is conditional on the approval of the municipal council. The current assessment is that no majority can be reached for the sale of the shares in Norrtälje Energi, for which reason the parties have decided to terminate the agreement in advance.
